How Many Sessions Will I Need?

This varies and there is no formula. Every client, couple, and family is unique in their stories, needs, and receptiveness to working through their challenges and learning new tools. Generally, our experience at Family First Counseling Center has been that clients who are implementing what is discussed in the therapy room between sessions in their everyday life tend to need fewer sessions. However, if there are layers and multiple situations to work through, it can take time.  Most people coming in have been trying to figure out their circumstances for years and it can take time to work through these layers. At Family First Counseling Center it is our goal to help you as effectively as we can.

Can I afford therapy? What costs should I expect?

Counselling is an investment, just like we invest in our physical health or our education. It is an investment in yourself, your emotional health and happiness, as well as an investment in your most important relationships. Therapy will enrich your life in the long run and create a healthy basis for future connections.

Self pay clients: payment of the full fee is due at the time of your counseling appointment.
We accept Debit/Credit & HSA/FSA Card

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance. We do not participate in any insurance networks, including Medicare or Medicaid; however many insurance policies provide out-of-network reimbursement. We are consider an out-of-network provider. You can request a Superbill/Statement from your clinician. You then submit the Superbill/Statement to your insurance company for “out of network” consideration. Reimbursement is contingent on your insurance plan, so it’s recommended that you contact your company regarding ‘out of network’ benefits.

Many patients use their Flexible Healthcare Spending Accounts to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for their therapy. Check with your plan about its rules and policies.


Cancellation Policy

If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session, as our therapists have reserved that time spot just for you.
